Canvas at the Pyramids: Jack Catterall’s World Title Shot
This weekend, one of our own steps onto a stage unlike any he has seen before. Jack Catterall, a proud ambassador for Canvas Athletic, fights for the WBA welterweight title not in a neon‑lit arena but beneath the Pyramids of Giza.
The fight is the kind that careers are built on. Shakhram Giyasov, an undefeated Uzbek contender with a record of 17 wins and 10 knockouts, stands opposite Jack. Giyasov is fast, patient and carries genuine power. But Jack Catterall is something else. He is a 32‑year‑old from Chorley with 34 professional fights behind him and a quiet refusal to take the easy route.
That refusal is why he belongs with Canvas.
Jack has spent this whole camp working quietly, deliberately, and in kit that actually does its job. On the cooler mornings around the gym, he has been wearing the Packable Lightweight Ripstop Windbreaker. It is built for movement, designed to handle a bit of rain or wind without making you feel like you are wrapped in a tent. The fabric is lightweight, breathable, and moves with him through every shadow boxing round and every late‑night bag session. He pulls it on before the warm‑up and keeps it handy between rounds.

For his pre-match press conference, Jack stepped out in the District collection, choosing the District jacket in black. You can follow his lead and get yours today online or at our Liverpool showroom.
On Saturday night, Jack Catterall does not just fight for a belt. He fights for everyone who has ever shown up on the hard days, who has put the work in when nobody was watching, who has refused to take the shortcut. That is the Canvas way. That is Jack Catterall’s way.
The fight is part of the Glory in Giza card, headlined by Oleksandr Usyk against kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven. The whole event is live on DAZN PPV, with ring walks expected at around 10 pm local time in Egypt, 8 pm in the UK.
One more thing. The winner of this fight goes on to face WBA super champion Rolly Romero. That means a genuine shot at the biggest paydays and the widest recognition. Jack knows it. Giyasov knows it. Only one of them will walk out of the Pyramids with the belt. We know which one we are backing.
Good luck, Jack. The whole Canvas team is with you.
No blank days.
